Ozmen - Tire Tester and Engineer

Who am I?

Hi Folks. I’m Ozmen, and I work as a tire designer/engineer. I understand finding a tire isn’t easy, as there are so many variables involved. But with me around, tire selection would never bother you again. Learn More About Me.

Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo 3

Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo 3 vs Continental TerrainContact AT

Both tires are very different in their designs, and it also goes for their performance as well. Out of both, the Continental TerrainContact AT supplies superior directional grip and handling along with steering response in both wet and dry environments, and its one of the quietest tires you can get in the all-terrain category. The Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo 3 on the other hand, supplies better fuel economy and tread life, gives slightly better winter traction, and has similar rocky terrain performance.

Hankook Dynapro AT2

Hankook Dynapro XT vs AT2

The Hankook AT2 is a better tire when it comes to on-road traction (in both dry and wet environments). And you also get superior fuel, treadwear and noise dampening performance as well. The Dynapro X/T on the other hand, is although not so bad on roads, it really lacks on wet.

Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure

Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure vs TrailRunner

So let me summarize all of the things I discussed above, though it's highly recommended that you don't miss out on any of the above detailed explanation. The Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner is the exact copy of Goodyear Workhorse A/T, I added it's link in the tread section. This tire offers a very lighter structure, though compromises on it's durability.

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac

Toyo Open Country RT vs Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac

So it all comes down to this. Overall, as I discussed above, even though both tires come in hybrid category, having mud-terrain like shoulder lugs, the on-road performance is still seen better on Goodyear Duratrac. This goes especially when things are wet.

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac

Kumho Road Venture AT52 vs Goodyear DuraTrac

Out of both tires, its not a surprise to see Kumho Road Venture AT52 providing better performance on roads, in terms of traction in both wet and dry environments, fuel consumption, tread life and winter grip. Whereas on Goodyear DuraTrac, shines off-road in all types of rugged terrains, including rocks, sand and even mud (where Kumho doesn't stand a chance).

Hankook Dynapro AT2

Kumho Road Venture AT52 vs Hankook Dynapro AT2

The Kumho Road Venture AT52 is a better tire when it comes to wet road traction. The tire also features superior comfort and winter gripping capability. On the other hand, the Hankook Dynapro AT2 excels in tread life and noise dampening on roads.

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac

Goodyear Duratrac vs Cooper Rugged Trek

Goodyear Duratrac yields superior performance on roads when it comes to winter and wet traction, and off-road, the tire stays unbeatable on muddy and sandy tracks. On the other side, the Cooper Rugged Trek does better on dry pavements, offering superior fuel economy and tread life. And on rugged terrains, it won't disappoint you at all on gravel and dirt filled terrains.

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac

Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx vs Goodyear DuraTrac

Out of both tires, the Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx gets to take the back seat when it comes to on-road performance. The tire lacks in offering ample wet and dry grip, fuel efficiency, comfort and tread life. Though it shines off-road especially on gravely and rocky terrains.

Hankook Dynapro AT2

Hankook Dynapro AT2 vs Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo 3

So lets summarize all of what I've discussed (for the folks who are in a hurry, though it's not recommended to skip all of the above). The Dynapro AT2 is a better tire to have when it comes to directional grip, lateral traction and overall steering response. Bu that only goes for dry pavements, as on wet, the tire is below average (among it's competitors).
